To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the publication of ``A Mathematical Theory of Communication'' the Mathematical Sciences Research Center at Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies will present a one day symposium. The late Aaron Wyner had conceived of this celebration and there will be a session to honor his memory.
We are honored that Thomas Cover, David Forney, Robert Gallager, Robert Lucky, James Massey, David Slepian, Neil Sloane, Andrew Viterbi, Jack Wolf, and Jacob Ziv have agreed to present talks.
