AWARDS Carl W. Baum and Venugopal V. Veeravalli have been named as the recipients of the 1996 IEEE Browder J. Thompson Memorial Prize Award. Their award winning paper, entitled "A Sequential Procedure for Multihypothesis Testing," appeared in the {\em IEEE Transactions on Information Theory}, Vol. 40, No. 6, November 1994, pp. 1994--2007. The Thompson Award is given each year for an outstanding paper by authors under 30 years of age published in the previous calendar year. The winning paper is selected from all journals and all areas of specialization covered by the IEEE. 100 Years of Wireless Communication 1996 INFORMATION THEORY WORKSHOP -- Dan-Carmel, Haifa, June 9-13, 1996 VENUE: The 1996 Information Theory Workshop will be held at the luxurious Dan-Carmel hotel located on the famous Carmel mountain in the beautiful city of Haifa.
