Biography:

Samantha is currently a graduate student working with Dr. Behnaam Aazhang at Rice University in Houston, TX.  She received her B.A. with Honors in Applied Mathematics from UC Berkeley in 2006 and joined the ECE department at Rice in 2007.  In 2007 she became a Texas Instruments Fellow and in 2008 she was awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. 

In addition to her research, Samantha is the former President and co-founder of Electrical XOR Computer Engineering Leaders (ExCEL) at Rice, which is a graudate student group for women in the ECE Department.  She is a member of the Empowering Leadership Alliance (ELA) and holds a position on their Student Advisory Board.  Additionally, she is on the Graduate Student Committee (GSC) for the ECE department at Rice and has helped enable the development of a mentoring program for first-year graduate students.  Through GSC she mentors two first year grads and through ELA she mentors one engineering undergraduate.
