Biography:

Igal Sason was born in Israel in 1969. He received the B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel, in 1992 and 2001, respectively. During 1993 - 1998, he served in the army as an electrical engineer. From 1998 to 2001, he was a PhD student and a teaching assistant in the department of electrical engineering at the Technion. During 2001 - 2003, he was a Scientific Collaborator in the Faculty of Computer Science and Communications, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland. Since 2003, he has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Technion where he is currently a Senior Lecturer. His research interests include coding theory and information theory. He is especially interested in codes on graphs and iterative decoding. He is currently serving as an Associate Editor for Coding Theory for the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory.
