Hakan Dogan was born in Istanbul, Turkey, on 1979. He received the B.S., M.S. and and the Ph.D. degrees in electronics engineering from Istanbul University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 2001, 2003, 2007 respectively. From 2001 to 2007, he was a Research Assistant at the faculty of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, University of Istanbul, working on signal processing algorithms for wireless communication systems. In 2007, he joined the same faculty as an Assistant Professor.  His general research interests cover communication theory, estimation theory, statistical signal processing, and information theory. His current research areas are focused on wireless communication concepts with specific attention to equalization and channel estimation for spread-spectrum and multicarrier (orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing) systems.
