fancier profile registration

Right now if people add themselves they fall in one of two categories: people who just put their name and email (sparse) and people who put in photos, bio, etc (dense).

For the sparse users, can we encourage them to put a little more content? For the dense users, can we get them to input data about themselves like past AE status, committee memberships, etc, so that we can just approve an autolink?

Perhaps we can give them a drop-down list of committees or chapters and they can select which ones they belong to? We could make that required to register which should affect both sparse and dense.
