Standing Online Committee

What should be the charter, responsibilities, and timeline for a standing Online Committee? Membership?

Timeline

  • Propose (in outline form) formation of Committee and Associate Online Editor positions at CISS 2009 BoG meeting
  • Make motion on ByLaws changes (full detail) at ISIT 2009 BoG meeting

Charter

  • Keep the website(s) running or manage contracts with hosting partners
  • Lead development and integration of web technologies or manage contracts with graphic design and software development partners
  • Update content on the websites or coordinate and support the updating of content by others in the Society
  • Encourage contributions of content from the Membership
  • Regularly report on the status of the website(s) to the Officers and BoG, make recommendations, and execute tasks from the BoG

Membership

  • Online Editor (Ex Officio, Chair)
  • Secretary (Ex Officio)
  • Associate Online Editors
  • Volunteers

Perhaps we want to add some language about "exploring and developing new opportunities for web-based collaboration" etc etc, which may give some room as the technology shifts.

Agreed, but I sort of view that as falling under the "lead development and integration of web technologies" bullet. Am I missing something?

Probably should split that bullet into two points -- one about leading development and expanding resources and another about being taking point on interfacing with developers.
