ISIT 2009 Targets

What we can do at ISIT 2009 to get people aware/using the site.

So what outreach can we do at ISIT 2009 to get people to sign up for the site?

  1. Meet with chapter chairs and committee members to get them to use the CMS more and to get ideas for what they can use.  [Anand]
  2. Meet with the conferences chair (Bruce Hajek) and some of the future ITW conference chairs to get a sense of how much support we can provide for conference website hosting.  [Matthieu and Jean-Francois]
  3. Meet with the newsletter editor (Tracey Ho) and get a sense of how we can do a joint online/paper newsletter with expanded content.  Getting the award news (Shannon, Paper) up the day they are announced (and with pictures if possible?)  [Amin]
  4. Get a sense of how content (e.g. tutorials) can be expanded on the website, and how to get the IT Society as a community can use the website more effectively.  Blogs, etc?  [Mehul]

I think I still have some flyers from ITA. I will bring them to ISIT if I find them...

I saw a stack of flyers here in the lab at ND, so that could be a challenge. We can coordinate with Utsaw to bring them.

"Tutorial"

Some of the Officers have suggested a "tutorial" of some kind to help people register, enter their affiliation and bio, upload a photo, and perhaps see how to post news and events. If either of you have time to do this, it could be useful. But it would require some advertising and coordination with the conference organizers to get a room with WiFi and a projector.
