Postdoctoral Position at Penn State
A post doctoral scholar position is available in The Electrical Engineering Department, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, at the Pennsylvania State University, University Park Campus, under the direction of Prof. Aylin Yener.

The project with which the position is associated is at the boundary of information theory and computer science, in particular at the interface of information theory, machine learning, distributed systems, communication complexity and computational linguistics. Candidates must have a solid background in network information theory, statistics, and need either be proficient or be willing to come up to speed in statistical learning and the above disciplines as needed. A Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, Statistics or a closely related area is required. The successful applicant must have the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration. He/she will be involved in collaborative research, and is expected to document the research results in refereed journal publications and to present them at seminars, project meetings and conferences. He/she will be expected to contribute to the research agenda in reporting, research contributions and further funding opportunities. The appointment will be initially for a one-year period with a possibility of renewal up to two more years.
