About the opportunity 

The School of Electrical and Information Engineering at the University of Sydney is seeking to appoint up to three Postdoctoral Research Associates (PDA) to join the Centre of Excellence in Telecommunications. The PDAs will be involved in the research and development of wireless communication systems and networks for emerging internet of things applications.

 

The position is initially available for  two years, subject to satisfactory annual progress, with a possible two year extension. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees. 

 

About you

We are looking for Postdoctoral Research Associates who possesses demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following areas:

 

  • wireless communications
  • error control coding
  • MIMO techniques wireless cellular access
  • resource allocations in communication networks
  • MIMO techniques
  • network security
  • software defined networks
  • wireless energy transfer and harvesting

 

The successful applicants will also have a PhD in a relevant area and a strong research track record as well as mathematical and software tools such as linear algebra, distributed optimisation, machine learning and software defined radio.

 

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, work effectively in a team, manage resources and prioritise tasks to achieve project outcomes will be essential.
