Usage

Here are some guidelines for using the lists so that the archiving above works as described:

  1. Send email to <listname>@lists.itsoc.org, where <listname> is the approprate list name above.
  2. Avoid putting a mailing list in CC, and try not to include in the TO or CC fields the addresses of users who are already on the list.
  3. Be sure your mail program generates emails so that the address in the FROM field corresponds exactly to the address with which you are subscribed to the list(s). If not, depending upon the list, you may receive a mysterious email indicating your message has been queued because it is a post by a non-member.

Passwords

Some of the lists above require passwords for access. To recover yours, do the following:

  1. Point a web browser to http://lists.itsoc.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo.
  2. Select the list of interest.
  3. At the bottom of the list information page, enter the email address at which you receive emails and press the "Unsubscribe or edit options" button.
  4. At the bottom of the list options page, press the "Remind" button.
  5. Check your mail for a message including the password.
